Dawson’s Jazz Brunch
We’re big fans of two things: Sunday brunch and jazz music. So after thinking about it recently, we decided it would be a good idea to combine the two. This Sunday at Dawson’s Market, $14.99/per person ($5.99/kids 4-10) will get you an all you can eat brunch buffet from 11:00am – 2:00pm that includes an extended breakfast bar of locally-made bagels, smoked salmon, salad bar, omelet and waffle station, desserts and mimosa tastings! Kids 3 and under are FREE so bring your whole family!
Dawson’s New Omega Oatmeal
If you’ve been looking for a little more substance in your breakfast, look no further. Come by Dawson’s Market before 11:00am to fill up on our delicious breakfast bar. When you’re there, make sure to try our new Omega Oatmeal, a house-made concoction of organic steel cut oats, groats, organic soy milk, chia seeds, hemp seeds, and buckwheat seeds. It’s packed full of nutrient rich superfoods that will last as along as you do!
Barebar takes the win!
Last month we asked you, our costumers, to vote on the name of our new health bar. With four names to choose from and after counting hundreds of votes, the victor went to Barebar with Terrabar as a close second. Keep an eye out for these bars on our shelves soon, thanks for voting!
People We Love: Bethesda Bagels
There’s something special about a freshly baked bagel in the morning. Whether or not you’re spreading a smooth layer of cream cheese on top or dressing it with fresh smoked salmon, you can tell a good bagel when you bite into it. Crispy on the outside and soft and fresh on the interior.
Kids Be Green Workshop
Join us for a fun activity in our café open to kids of all ages. Use a recycled plastic bottle as a planter and plant herbs using compost made from Dawson’s discarded vegetable scraps. We know the importance of healthy food on the go. Being able to grab something that’s nutritionally dense, filling, and still tastes good when you’re in a rush is a convenience we can easily forget about. We’re always in search of the perfect food bar, something that can fill the void of specific diets and like we said, tastes good. Thus, we’ve decided to create our own foo bar. A bar that’s filled with organic ingredients, packed with nutrition, and tastes great! The only catch is that we’re not sure what to call it, and that’s where we need your help!
Here’s all you have to do:
1. If you’re in the store, visit the customer service desk and fill out a voter ballot. If you’d like to vote from the comfort of your computer, email your choice from the above choices to info@dawsonsmarket.com with the subject line “Vote For The Bar“. Please make sure to include your name and zip code in the body, along with your vote.

Rockville’s Winter Farmer’s Markets
Rockville Winter Farmer’s Markets are here! The Olney Farmers Market has partnered with the Sandy Spring Museum to hold a winter market every Saturday from 10am – 2pm, starting February 16th and ending April 29th. The Bethesda Central Winter Farm Market is open starting Saturday February 16th from 1oam – 1pm and continuing each Saturday through March 31st! It is located at 7600 Arlington Road. Get there and get some amazing local goods!
Dawson’s Market At Rockville Lunar Celebration!
Dawson’s Market will be a part of the Third Annual Lunar New Year Celebration taking place on Saturday, February 16, 2013 in Rockville Town Square. You can expect more than one thousand parade participants and spectators from across Montgomery County as well as an outdoor Asian street festival and performances. The VisArts celebration is the only Lunar New Year event in Montgomery County that draws participants, sponsors and performers from the Chinese, Taiwanese, Thai, Vietnamese, Japanese and Korean communities. This is a wonderful event that you don’t want to miss! You will also get a chance to try some of our delicious Dawson’s Market Asian cuisine!

Around The World in 7 Cheeses
Have you ever wondered why Cheddar comes from England, and Brie from France? Why did Gruyere and Comte come down from the Jura Mountains? What cheeses were being made in Castilla-La Mancha in Spain while Don Quixote was running at windmills? In this FREE class, we will discover the origins of some of the most popular cheeses around, and talk about the role that time and place played in creating them.
We will also explore the rapidly growing artisan cheese movement in the United States, and learn about how cheesemaking in the US differs from cheesemaking abroad. Be prepared to travel around the world and through history without ever leaving your seat!
This class is completely free and open to the public. Join us on Thursday, January 17th in our Community Dining Area where class will be in session!
